Vázquez Consuegra architectural office has won first place in the competition for the construction of the town hall of Montegiorgio on the remains of the former Convent of San Francesco, as well as the architectural rehabilitation of one of the few surviving buildings of the convent complex, the Panfili Staircase.
The main objective of the winning proposal is to enhance the value of the two main surviving historic buildings that belonged to the convent complex of San Francisco, the old church and the Panfili Staircase (Pio Panfili, architect and painter of the 18th century). To achieve this, it is proposed to demolish the buildings constructed in the 1950s attached to the church and to create a new public space between the two existing buildings.

The project for the restructuring and regeneration of the Ex-Manifactura building in Gemona del Fruili (Udine, Italy) for its conversion into a Sports Business Creation Centre under the name “Sportland Life Factory” is being drawn up.
The building was built after the earthquake of 1976 according to the design of architect Emilio Mattioni, a member of the “Studio di Via Mazzini” architectural office in Udine and one of the leading exponents, together with Renzo Agosto and Gianugo Polesello, of the “Architecture Group” that made the Venice School internationally famous in the 1970s and 1980s.
The Vázquez Consuegra architectural studio, together with architect Sandro Pittini, Pool Engineering s.r.l., T14 Associati and geologist Davide Serravalli, will carry out the conversion of Mattioni’s building, after winning the tender promoted by the Gemona City Council in 2022.

It is a U-shaped building, with a main body at its head, which houses the common areas of the centre, such as the lobby, the cafeteria/restaurant and the service areas corresponding to the company laboratories.
The Alicante Science Park has created a virtual tour of the entire building, in which you can explore each space, floor by floor, through the following link:

Vázquez Consuegra has won the competition for the integral refurbishment of the Castell Nou de Llinars del Vallès as a multidisciplinary office space.
It was a restricted two-phase competition with the intervention of a jury, with 8 finalists in the second phase. Vázquez Consuegra’s proposal “Castell XXI” achieved the highest score.
The proposed intervention in the Castell Nou de Llinars del Vallés not only resolves its historical recovery through the comprehensive refurbishment of the building, but also provides it with a new use, this time cultural and administrative. It is, therefore, the reactivation of the old with a contemporary reuse to incorporate it into the life cycle of the city

Architect Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra has been announced as the winner of the International Competition to design the new Sea Museum in the city of Trieste, Italy.
The subject of the tender launched by the council was the requalification of the most relevant element among the port warehouse ensemble of ‘Porto Vecchio’, a magnificent building called ‘Magazzino 26’ listed as building of cultural interest. It was built in 1893, with four levels and a 244 linear meters long facade, it is a beautiful example of industrial architecture, built in white Istria limestone and cast iron columns.
As he already did some years ago, when he transformed the old Genoa Arsenal into the city Sea Museum on the occasion of the celebration of Genoa as European Capital of Culture in 2004, Vazquez Consuegra will work on this distinguished building in Trieste’s ‘Porto Vecchio’ to convert it to the new seat of the Sea Museum, currently located on Campo Marzio’s street in the same city.
The creation of a new museum pole inside ‘Porto Vecchio’, together with other cultural strategies already going on in the same area, offers a real chance for the requalification of this significant port location of the city of Trieste.
The temporary consortium between Guillermo Vazquez Consuegra Architects and the Italian engineering consulting: Politecnica, Consilium, Cooprogetti, Mads & Associati, Re.Te, F. Lambertucci, M. Endrizzi and SGM Consulting, will be in charge of the project and the site work management of the new Sea Museum.
