His most outstanding works: Magallanes Park in Seville (2018), the Caixaforum Seville Cultural Centre (2017), the Ministère des Affaires Etrangères et Europèennes in Luxembourg (2017), the Market and Civic Hall in Torrent, Valencia (2015), the Hospital Gardens in Valencia (2013), Seville’s Congress Centre (2012), several social housing in Madrid (2012), Rota (2004), Cádiz (1991) and Seville (1987), the complete renovation of San Telmo’s Palace in Seville to host the Andalusian region Presidency (2010), the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology in Cartagena (2008), Visitor Center in the Archaeological Complex of Baelo Claudia (2007), Ciudad Real Courthouse (2007), the Archive of Castilla-La Mancha in Toledo (2005), the Town Hall of Tomares, Seville (2004), Vigo’s Waterfront (1997-2004), the Illustration Museum in Valencia (2001), the Museum of the Sea in Genoa (2001), the Andalusian Heritage Institute La Cartuja in Seville (1995), Telecommunications Tower and Building for Telephone Services in Cadiz (1993), and the Navigation Pavillion for the 1992 International exhibition, including its renovation and adaptation to new uses in 2011. At present: He is currently working, among other projects, on the refurbishment of the Archaeological Museum of Seville, the Business Creation Centre of the University of Alicante, the Museum of the Sea in Trieste and the Atarazanas Cultural Centre in Seville, all of them first prizes in public competitions. Teaching: He has been Professor at the University of Seville (from 1972 to 1975 and from 1980 to 1987), Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of Buenos Aires (1993), Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (1995-1996-1997), School of Architecture of Navarra (1998 and 2021), Syracuse University School of Architecture, New York (2001), Faculty of Architecture of the University of Bologna (2002-2003), Faculty of Architecture of Venice (2005-2006-2007-2013 and 2020), Academy of Architecture of the University of Italian Switzerland in Mendrisio (2007-2008-2009 and 2010) and Visiting Scholar in the Getty Centre in L.A. (1994-1995). Director of the Architecture Summer Courses at the Complutense University of Madrid from 1993 to 2004. In 2005 he was appointed Honorary Professor at the University of Seville, where he has since then directed the Taller Internacional de Arquitectura Vázquez Consuegra/Cátedra Blanca Project Unit, until 2019. He is the author of the publications “Cien edificios de Sevilla” (1986), “Guía de arquitectura de Sevilla” (1992) and “Plazas de Toros” (1993, with Díaz Recasens), all published by the Junta de Andalucía. As scientific director of the publishing house Tanais and in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works, he has launched two collections on contemporary architecture in Spain and Latin America.
